Dr. Oscar Fernandes, senior leader of the National Congress, inaugurated the refractive station in 2015.
Organised State Level Ophthalmic Conference, in Udupi, in 2015. It was also the first-ever retina CME done at Udupi by Prasad Netralaya inaugurated by Dr. Lalit Verma, Chairman of AIOS Scientific Committee.
Dr. Krishna Prasad Kudlu was unanimously elected as Vice President of the Karnataka Ophthalmic Society in October 2021.
An eye donation rally was held for the first time in Gujarat on September 17th, 2021. This was done to raise awareness of the importance of eye health in the prime Minister’s homeland.
12 camps were held in 12 different locations, screening over 20,000 people; 12,000 spectacles were distributed for free, and 2,000 free eye procedures were performed. It has now been re-inaugurated, and services have resumed as of October 4th, 2021.
Under the leadership of C.M, Dr. Pramod Sawant and Union Minister, Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, a series of “Vision For All” camps were held in Goa between February and April 2021.
In January 2021, Prasad Nethralaya was the first private eye care institution in coastal Karnataka that launched a vaccination drive. Over 1000+ people were immunised.
Though we were still in the middle of the pandemic, Nadoja Dr. Kudlu along with his team conducted eye camps in the Prime Minister’s birth state of Gujarat. He was blessed to have screened 2000+ Patients in a single day and performed 150+ surgeries in a span of two days.
